Anna Edwards, HAVEN’s Client Advocate, and Krystal Redmond-Sherrill , Legal Advocate, attended the Bozeman Police Department’s Citizen’s Police Academy. After exciting lessons including a ride along, drug bust and use of force, we are proud to announce that Anna and Krystal have graduated from the academy. They have felt that their time spent in the academy gave them a better understanding of the multitude of issues the police deal with on a daily basis. They feel that they have a better appreciation of the police department and the difficulties and obstacles they face. The police have an integral role in our work and we are glad that we had the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with some of our most important allies.
Anna and Krystal were also surprised to find out that the academy decided by a vote to donate the proceeds from their classes to HAVEN. Thank you to the academy for sharing your knowledge and skills and supporting our organization with a donation. We’re lucky to have you as partners in this fight against domestic violence.
