HAVEN is lucky to have three interns in the office this Summer. Their projects are varied and include compiling community resources for our clients, researching summer activities for children planning the Drop and Trot race, and working on a volunteer plan. Thank you to our interns for all of your hard work!
“Hey, my name is Sam Averitt and I am currently a junior at Montana State University. I am interning at HAVEN this summer for credit towards my degree in Community Health. I am also an Army ROTC cadet and will be going back on active duty in 2012. My time at HAVEN has been an eye-opening experience. Every member of the HAVEN staff is a true professional and has done an amazing job of showing me the effects of domestic violence. I know I have a lot more to learn but I have no doubt that with the guidance of the HAVEN staff my internship with be a very positive experience.”
“My name is Autumn Benedetti and I have been in Bozeman for 4 years. I have my B.S. in Health and Human Development with an emphasis on Community Health. I have volunteered for HAVEN since January, and am continuing my internship through the summer. I have gained an immense amount of insight and knowledge regarding domestic violence, that I hope will help to further guide my work with crisis in the community.”
“My name is Sabrina Phillips. I am an undergraduate student at Saint Leo University focusing on earning my associate’s in Criminal Justice. I have a passion for helping others through non-profits. I enjoy my numerous volunteer positions with Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming, traveling, and photography. I chose to intern with HAVEN because helping victims and survivors of domestic violence is about changing and saving lives through compassion and empowerment.”
