Making change happen: Behind the scenes with the Domestic Violence Response Team

Collaboration and tools that save lives were just two of the things Haven’s Domestic Violence Response Team Coordinator Bailey Brubaker mentioned during her recent talk at the Montana Board of Crime Control’s Educational Power Hour.

Bailey covered successes and learnings of the past few years of her work facilitating the Domestic Violence Response Team here in Gallatin County, including:

  • Saving lives by preventing domestic violence survivors from falling through cracks in the system – including implementing a new tool used by all of Gallatin County law enforcement (you can read more about this effort here)

  • Relationship building as the key to a successful collaboration when 30 different agencies are involved

  • The importance of looking ahead – watch this space for more news on how the DV Response Team is making changes so that survivors don’t fall through the cracks.
