Tell your story: Sign up for End the Silence 2025!
If you’ve survived intimate-partner violence and you’re interested in sharing your story with others – to help end the stigma around relationship violence, and/or to help yourself in healing – sign up to join the next cohort of Haven’s survivor speakers’ bureau, End the Silence.
The next End the Silence group begins Jan. 8 and involves eight to 10 weeks of working with a writing coach in the group, as well as a storytelling event in Bozeman in mid- to late March.
Haven started End the Silence in 2015-16, after hearing from survivors who wanted to tell their stories safely and publicly. The program aims to:
Reduce the stigma around domestic violence, a public-health epidemic that for many years was treated as a private family matter
Educate the community by putting real people and their first-person narratives in front of the statistics (one in seven people nationwide, or 20,000 people in Gallatin County alone, face intimate-partner violence)
Mobilize our community to end domestic violence, sex trafficking, and stalking
Survivors in past cohorts of End the Silence have spoken at Haven events, TedX talks locally, and at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center in Big Sky.
